When it comes to the proper education for children belonging to the marginalised section of society, the condition of the schools built for them by the government is usually very poor. These schools often do not have the proper infrastructure to accommodate the children nor can they provide enough study materials or school supplies to the children. The teachers are untrained and they often lack the experience to educate the children. The reality of an average school built for these children is grim.
The education for underprivileged children has been challenging in itself as their parents cannot afford the hefty tuition fees of the better schools due to their low income. Most of the time they prefer to not get their children enrolled in schools and even if they do, the children get dropped out soon without completing their basic education.
Parisar Asha understands the problem faced by these children and is actively trying to make quality education accessible to all for the past 40 years. We use joyful,
holistic and child-centric learning methods to educate the children. This method empowers them to be creative & sensitive,
have a good attitude & values, inculcate good habits and be good citizens that will help them build a respectable life for themselves and their families in the future.
Parisar Asha collaborates with schools that nurture an innovative approach and yearns to evolve from the traditional ‘rote learning’ methods. Parisar Asha provides
them with a pedagogy called ‘ESAL’- ‘The Environmental Studies Approach to Learning’. It is a unique learning approach that encourages learning from the environment,
be it natural, social, emotional or spiritual. This approach to education for underprivileged children helps them to internalise the fundamental
concepts with joy and the learning is for a lifetime. Parisar Asha also focuses on playing a significant role in the capacity building of the teachers so that they can
impart the right education to their students. Till now, Parisar Asha has conducted various teachers’ training programs in different subjects to build the knowledge and
skills of the teachers that help them to nurture the young minds while having a flourishing careers for themselves.
