Education is considered to be the most powerful weapon that can help us change the world and it is the most effective way to have a major impact on the lives of the children belonging to the marginalised section of the society. According to a survey by National Sample Survey Office, more than three crore children are still deprived of basic education and remain out of school in India. These children, along with their right to receive the right education, also lose their childhood to earn bread for a living. It has been 75 years of Independence and yet the conventional education system fails to acknowledge the adverse effects of a lack of right education on a child’s holistic development. Parisar Asha understands this issue and brings forth an educational method that improves a child’s holistic learning system.
Parisar Asha’s initiative to provide the right education to children through a holistic learning and development approach has helped more than 14 lakh children over the course of years of operation. We have set up thoughtfully and devised a unique learning approach ‘ESAL’- ‘The Environmental Studies Approach to Learning’ to replace the traditional rote learning methodology with a joyful learning system. We collaborate with schools and various educational institutes to provide education that helps the children to learn in a joyful way through our natural, social and spiritual environment. The goal of our curriculum is to augment formal education through activity-based learning and institutionalising holistic learning in our public education system. Parisar Asha also works with parents and teachers which makes their contribution to the child’s overall development highly effective.
Parisar Asha’s unique learning approach of educating children through workshops and various activities aims to generate awareness among the guardians as well as the local communities about the importance of education. We recognise that for a child’s holistic learning system, their mental health must also be taken care of. So we also conduct free counselling sessions over the phone for children, young adults and adults to create a safe space within families for children to grow gracefully. This further encourages the parents to send their children to school so that they can build a better life for themselves in the future.
